Please pray for our team:
I am a third year student in Kyambogo University pursuing a bachelor in Surveying and Land information systems. I hope to share my little knowledge with others and also hope to add more knowledge during this training. I do believe that my faith will develop more due to the spiritual nourishment eMI gives during the training and since am just a representative of those who are not able to get the chance during this training, i hope to be their trainer. I just love all about eMI both the skills they offer and the spiritual guidance they take us through since am a devoted christian. Hoping that one day I will be called Prof. Opesa Samuel in future, God willing!
I am Gidaga Emmanuel, athird year student at Ndejje University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in surveying and land information systems. I believe by training with eMI will help me enrich my store of knowledge about the use of various survey equipment and surveying at large. I also expect to grow stronger in faith and in spirit as i learn more about God through the ministerial works done by eMI. My dream is to become a multi-businessman specialising in engineering fields. I also hope to provide ashelter for the disadvantaged kids.
I have just completed my 3rd year at Ndejje University in Surveying and Land Information Systems. My dream is to be a GIS analyst. Training with eMi will give me the exposure, fluency in using design software, data collection software and also knowledge of different machines. Helping people is one thing that I really love to do in life and eMi has put up a platform on which I can go out there to assist someone! That gives me the zeal and courage to hold on to what I believe in, that is offering to help out where I have the capacity. Being with eMi this summer will help me to continue to further build my relationship with my God.
I’ve completed my final year from Makerere University Kampala. I hope to grow my range in the use of different equipment and confidence in their operation but most importantly to grow in my spiritual life and get to know the different ways in which I can apply knowledge in surveying to better serve my community. I’m also looking forward to the outreach part of the practicum………. I can’t wait… This training will enable me help those around me especially my colleagues by sharing the knowledge that I will have obtained.
I will be beginning my 4th year at Kyambogo University through a government sponsorship . I hope to acquire skills from this training and help those whose who are not privileged and cannot access the services of surveying. This training programe with EMI will improve on our lives spiritually through the constant prayer sections as a group and through sharing different ideas with each other. I really feel good to be part of the group which can help other groups of people. My dream is to became a prominent surveyor and help all the siblings following me and even those who can’t support themselves.
I am a third student of Kyambogo University pursuing a bachelors degree in surveying and land information systems. I hope to be well equipment with vast practical knowledge about surveying inorder to become a competent surveyor who is going to change the land information systems of uganda to better standards. I know I will be able to grow spritiually through sharing with others during the training. My dream is to be the basis of change of surveying in Uganda.
I am a fourth year student from Kyambogo University. Am hopeful to make new friends, gain enormous knowledge and skills in regard to surveying and also grow spiritually during the Survey Practicum. Through sharing the truth of the BIBLE, and having prayer sessions with the team and the community around, I will be able to grow spiritually. Being empowered with surveying skills for which I can volunteer to projects meant to change lives of the needy and also creating an avenue to meet and interact positively with the community, I believe change can come. BEING THE CAUSE FOR A CHANGE IN SOCIETY, is my dream.
I have just completed a Bachelors degree in surveying (2014) from Makerere University Uganda. I would like to be an exemplary and successful surveyor in the future and that is the reason as to why am interested in attending the eMi training so that I can be able to acquire knowledge and practical skills and at the same time grow spiritually. Attending the eMi training will also help my fellow graduates to acquire the necessary practical skills through the process of knowledge sharing. I look forward to a successful training
I have completed my Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying and Geomatics this year (2014) from Makerere University, Kampala Uganda. I believe am going to acquire skills and knowledge from this training and also learn how to use my professional to help or minister to other people by fully participating in eMi activities. Since eMi also offers spiritual guidance, I believe am going to grow spiritually. I thank God for this great opportunity given to me by eMi to be part of this year’s training.
“I am born to a catholic family, my parents are all Christians though I never had a chance to grow up with them. God has blessed me throughout all my life and particularly my education right from Nursery up to now that am expecting to graduate in December 2014. I did Land Surveying and Geomatics at Kyambogo University and I thank and praise God for that big blessing for it wasn’t obvious. Last summer (2013) I had a chance to take part as a student in the eMi’s Survey Practicum and it was then that God showed me his calling onto my life to serve with the gifts and skills I have freely received from him 1 Peter 4.10-11. A few months ago, I received an email from Patrick Cochrane inviting to intern with eMi one other time this time not as a student but as an Intern. Though, this looked strange; the decision I made to come serve the Lord and grow more spiritually other than going to look for a job or employment, it’s a satisfying one for my spiritual and career development, I am excited to meet all the students, to serve and learn from them.”
I just completed a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in civil engineering, come from the flat cornfields of central Illinois, and love anything outdoors. I am really excited to be working with Patrick, Martin, other volunteers, and the Ugandan University students this summer. I am grateful for this rare opportunity to grow together in our knowledge of land surveying and following Christ.

“One of my passions is to teach and pass on my knowledge, skills, and experiences for the benefit of others. As I prepare for this year’s Survey Practicum in Uganda, my excitement is starting to build. This will be my third overseas trip to serve as a volunteer for Engineering Ministries International. My previous trips were as a team surveyor for eMi projects in Kazakhstan and Cambodia. For me, it is a great privilege to have been given both the skills and availability to use in serving the Lord Jesus.”
Patrick Cochrane – Lead
I’m excited to be a part of the growth of eMi’s Survey Practicum, and to see many more people become engaged in this worthy cause – from eMi’s international staff, the trainers, student participants, and university faculty support; to our financial and prayer supporters. We are people from Uganda, Australia, USA, and Canada, coming together to share our culture, gifting’s, passions, and most of all our heart for God. Grateful to serve alongside my wife Joan and all of you.
